Madison Bridge – Post 3 – The Zombie Run
The following is a fictional account leading up to the Zombie Run I will be running on August 2. If you ask a question though it will be answered from within the universe this story is set.
The fog was rolling through the streets this morning when I left the house. Had some rain come through last night that my tomatoes needed. Can’t wait until those things are ripe but of course I’ll have to turn half of them over to the food stores for distribution. Still though, I get first pick so can’t beat that.
I tried to take a picture at the Madison Bridge but the fog rolling through the trees doesn’t actually show on the picture. There is nothing overly significant about this bridge that I know about. It just goes over a creek used for water runoff. Only thing I can say is that I walked over it on a daily basis heading out to protect the wall when I was in ZWAT.
The trail was quite this morning but it was also just after 5am. Heard some birds then about 10 minutes into the run I heard a single shot from a rifle far ahead of me. Guess one of the monkeys on the wall either took out a loan deader or fell asleep when his finger was on the trigger. Either way none of the alarms went off so I didn’t think twice about it and kept on running.
Planning on making it up past the intersection in the trail on the next run and I’ll take a picture of that. Interesting story about the light there. A little bit of history for those who don’t live here.
