Talk with you after the run? – Post 13 – The Zombie Series

Posted 02 Aug 2014 in ZombieRun

The following is a fictional account leading up to the Zombie Run I will be running on August 2. If you ask a question though it will be answered from within the universe this story is set.

Tomorrow is the day I either make it through the run or get taken down by a group of the deaders and well, when you hit the ground things go south really fast. Trying to decide on what to wear still, not sure if I want to gear up or stay loose.  Leaning more towards staying loose so I have more mobility to dodge or whatnot.  I understand the theory of being fully covered for bites and all but not all bites from those things will kill you unless they hit an artery. Its common knowledge that the bite itself won’t kill you but the bacterial infection that comes afterwards does. But you know how common knowledge and common sense don’t always go hand in hand with some people. Lot of people still think the bite will turn you and it did in the old days. There is a medical tent at the end of this thing so if I get a bite they can just clean it out then give me a shot for it. Back in the day we didn’t always have medical help so a bite could kill you within a day or so.  So I think shorts and a running shirt it is, might even go with that bright yellow shirt I have since everyone knows that zombies can’t see yellow. Okay so maybe they can see yellow but I’m not going to stop and ask them if they can. Guess if I don’t make it I can always try and see if zombies can dance. Worked on this old video I watched.

In other news the protesters have ramped up their craziness. Last night a bunch of them chained themselves together on the road in front of the main gate that heads out to the running area. Ran into Jackson this morning while out for a bike ride and she was telling me about it. Their blockade didn’t last long though. Apparently someone off the council went down there and told them if they were still there in a half hour they would be running tomorrow chained together. She said they quickly disbanded and didn’t see any of them for the rest of the night.

So you might hear from me again or you might not. Guess you will have to wait and see.  With that I leave you with this classic uplifting song from the great Johnny Cash. Wonder if I can get someone to place this over the speakers right before the run.
