The Etched Velocity Aquanaut #1
The last remnants of the rippling water hit the far end of the retention pond just as the photoreceptor adjusted to the sudden increase of light shining down from above. Gradually, the clicks of the gears started to fill the air. Something was wrong. Vision was limited to the photoreceptor only. Why was that? With a grind of gears the vision adjusted away from the bright light and to another object an object forged from metal which lay upon the ground as well. It wasn’t an automation. No this was something else.
“Sometin in there?” Came a voice from above.
